When you look at the maritime sector you see that many different ships are made. All these ships fulfill a different role in the maritime world. From naval ships, inland vessels, tugs, cruise ships to superyachts, each ship fulfills a different purpose.

The design of these ships also varies enormously due to the different purposes, which means that customization is essential for many ships.

OSO hotwater plays a turnkey role in providing all these customization requests from the factory in Sweden. But how exactly does that work?

It starts with a situation where the tank needs to be placed. From a carefully made calculation the required water supply is determined, this largely determines the size of the tank. The tanks from OSO hotwater can be produced with a capacity of 80 liters up to and including a capacity of, hold on to your hat, 15,000 liters. If it becomes clear that the dimensions of this tank will be too large, we can take look at connecting smaller barrels together, or use a single, smaller tank, with more heating capacity.

This heating capacity can take place via direct heating by means of an electric element, but the tank can also be heated by a coil that is heated by an external heat source such as residual heat from the engine, a heatpump or a boiler. The capacity of the heating element or the size of the coil can be adjusted as desired. This means that the capacity of the electric elements can be selected from 5kW to 100kW, and the capacity of the external heat source can vary from 10kW to even 250kW.

In addition, the connections on the barrels are very important, where are they located and how big should they be? In an existing situation, adjusting the positioning or the size of the flanges can mean that the piping around the tank does not have to be adjusted, which will save a lot of time and money. The connections of the barrels can be adjusted in all kinds of different types and sizes.

Not only is the positioning of different connections very important, the addition of Sightholes, Handholes or Manways is also important in many situations. When designing a tank, this is also considered together with the customer to ensure that this addition is mounted in exactly the right place.

In some situations, the tanks must also be supplied in a specific RAL color. We also offer this option of painting the entire tank in the desired color and with the desired coating of the customer.

It is a great thing that all OSO products can be produced completely according to your wishes, but of course the regulations must not be lost out of sight. Approval by any of the following class societies; Bureau Veritas, Lloyd’s Register, DNV, ABS and RINA can be requested.

As you can see, the possibilities are endless and we can customize any calorifier, accumulator or water heater for every customer, every ship and every situation.
